With the right mindset anything and everything is possible.
Jack Jarvis
Jack Jarvis is a soldier, serving in the British Army with 59 Commando Regiment. In December 2021 he did something no one has ever done before. He rowed solo from mainland Europe to mainland North America. This meant rowing up to 15 hours, 50 miles per day for 111 days. The whole journey was 4,500 nautical miles and it made Jack a Guinness World Record Holder. Jack did this in memory of his grandfather who died of a brain tumour and also to raise money for the UK brain tumour charity, Brainstrust. This was also Jack’s ‘United We Conquer‘ challenge.
In August 2021 Jack Jarvis was interviewed by national TV outlet, GB News. He received a combined 25 minutes of coverage on the Breakfast Show. The story was also shared across all the outlet’s social media channels, giving it a potential reach north of 500,000. This was invaluable coverage for Jack at that early stage of his journey. He was also interviewed by ITV National and Sky News in the days leading up to his departure. Also, Jack received coverage within his native Southampton, as well as further afield. This was following his most recent fundraising attempt, where he ran a marathon carrying a 26kg rowing machine!
Jack Jarvis has proved a hit with some of the UK’s most popular podcasts. Most recently he had insightful chats with Shaun Attwood and Chris Thrall.
Jack completed his row raising an amazing £65,000 for charity and now is closing in on £70,000 raised. He has amazing stories to tell about resilience being at sea for over 100 days in isolation, overcoming storms and days stuck in his cabin. He now wants to share his experience with others teaching them the value of resilience and overcoming adversity.
In October 2022 Jack was nominated for a Pride of Britain Award.
