Clive Myrie is a well known face as one of the UK’s main news anchors. He is one of the BBC’s most experienced foreign correspondents who in 2009 became a presenter for BBC News. Ten years later, he was still with the BBC and had become the main news anchor for both News at Six and News at Ten. He still covers both news programmes to this day.
In addition to delivering the news, in 2021 Clive Myrie took over from John Humphrys as the new presenter of BBC’s Mastermind and Celebrity Mastermind.
Invasion of Ukraine:
It was in 2022 whilst with the BBC, he went to Ukraine to report on the tensions and threats of Russia invading the country. In just one day it all went crazy. Viewers, who in the afternoon were listening to Clive updating on an increasingly tense situation, were now watching him on the evening bulletin, on a rooftop of a hotel in the country’s capital Kyiv. As Clive spoke, Russian missiles were raining down on the city behind him.
On a lighter note:
Clive Myrie has appeared on ‘Have I Got News For You’ four times to date. Three as host and once in 2021 as a panellist on Ian Hislop’s team. And in 2023, Clive and his wife will take to the road on BBC’s Clive Myrie’s Italian Road Trip. This will see Clive travelling around Italy, visiting iconic cities and experiencing the local culture. The series started on the 1st of May and there are 15 episodes in total.
