Geoff Norcott writes a lot of comedy for a lot of famous comedians. His writing credits include, Have I Got News for You and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. He wrote for Stand Up for the Week and The Sarah Millican Television Programme, to name a few. On top of all that Geoff has also been known to write for some well known newspapers.
When Geoff Norcott is not writing for TV, you can bet your boots, he’s probably starring in a well known comedy show. He’s been on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats and being a political Commentator, he’s even been on Question Time. When it comes to Geoff’s political views, no party or person is safe.
Originally an English teacher, Geoff took to performing comedy in order to earn a little more. It was at this time he was spotted by the BBC and before long he was either presenting or sitting on comedy panel shows.
The war in Afghanistan was in full force after 2001 and Geoff decided to go over and entertain the troops. He ended up doing 5 tours on the frontline and was awarded an OSM by the British Army.
Awards and Nominations are no stranger to Geoff Norcott. The Leicester Comedy Festival saw Geoff nominated for their Best New Show.
It wasn’t long after before Geoff was drawn to the Edinburgh Fringe and this was to become a regular part of his yearly tours which he has been performing for 10 years now. 2024 saw Geoff back on the road with his show, Basic Bloke
