Marcus Trescothick MBE is a former England Test captain and one of Somerset’s greatest ever cricketers. Making his England debut in 2000, he went on to play a key role in the Test and ODI teams for the next eight years. He became the fastest player to reach 5,000 Test runs in 2005 and achieved three consecutive years of 1,000-plus runs in the same period.
