Mark Ramprakash MBE is one of England’s most gifted batsmen, renowned for his elegant stroke play and prolific run scoring in county cricket. A member of an exclusive group of players to have scored over 100 first-class centuries, he is remembered as a legend for Middlesex and Surrey. Mark’s career began at Middlesex, where his natural talent quickly shone through, earning him an England debut in 1991. In 2006, he produced a remarkable season, scoring 2,000 runs in just 20 innings and becoming one of only six players to average over 100 in a first-class season. Over his career, Mark scored 114 first-class centuries, a record matched by very few in the history of the game. He retired from playing in 2012 to become batting coach at Middlesex, before being appointed England’s batting coach in 2015. His coaching tenure included contributing to England’s batting strength during their successful 2019 World Cup campaign.
