Before joining the BBC in 2002, Emily Maitlis was a news presenter with Sky News. Along with her work as a regular presenter on various BBC News programmes, Emily was also the long term presenter of BBC’s Newsnight.
Her work with the BBC includes ten years presenting the news with Jon Sopel, a stint on BBC Breakfast. In 2019 she published Airhead: The Imperfect Art of Making News.
2020 is a year many will remember when she interviewed Prince Andrew. This won her a Royal Television Society journalism award to add to the many awards Emily has received over the years.
