Helen Skelton is a current presenter on BBC’s Countryfile. She is also a former presenter of BBC’s Blue Peter which she worked on for five years from 2008.
In 2022 Helen entered series 20 of Strictly Come Dancing. She had been seen previously on a Strictly Christmas Special back in 2012.
Over the years, Helen has made herself a name, as someone who will happily throw themselves into any number of extreme challenges, which over the past few years, have earned her an amazing reputation and a world record.
In 2010, for Sports Relief, Helen kayaked over 2,000 miles along the Amazon and in January this year, she embarked on another Polar Challenge which saw her tackle 500 miles of the icy and treacherous terrain of Antarctica, to reach the South Pole with the use of skis, kite-ski and bikes. Helen will likely get herself into the Guinness Book of World Records, by becoming the first person to reach the South Pole by bike.
Helen Skelton is also know for her coverage of swimming. In 2016 she hosted the BBC’s coverage of the European Swimming Championships. In that same year she also presented the swimming coverage at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. More swimming coverage happened in 2017 with the World Aquatics Championships. Much of the hosting was alongside the Olympic Gold free style swimmer Rebecca Adlington and former World Champion swimmer Mark Foster.
Helen Skelton is a superb host and presenter who also loves to talk about her adventures, many of which she did as part of the Blue Peter team.
