Jeff Grout was UK Managing Director of Robert Half International, the largest specialist recruitment consultancy in the world. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he joined Robert Half International as a Recruiter at the age of 28, after an eclectic career as a van driver, passport office administrator, cleaner, world traveller and local government town planner.
He remained with Robert Half International for almost 21 years and built up the UK operation from two offices and 12 staff into a business with a domestic turnover of 65 million, 18 offices and over 350 staff.
Jeff is also an independent business consultant focussing on people management, team building and peak performance. Also, recruitment and retention issues. He holds a number of corporate advisory and executive coaching appointments and also runs various management training workshops on effective selection and client relationship marketing. In addition to this, Jeff was Business Manager for the England Rugby Coach at the time, Clive Woodward.
Jeff Grout has completed engagements for a diverse range of clients, which includes IBM, Sport England and the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. In addition to these there is Nationwide Building Society and Saracens RFC. Jeff has acted as keynote speaker, conference chair/moderator and interviewer.
He also chaired Bourne Leisure’s Management Conference in Monte Carlo. This was his sixth event for Bourne Leisure over a three year period.
Jeff completed four successful speaking engagements at various locations for Parcelforce Worldwide on the subject of ‘Leadership in a Changing World’.
The Entrepreneurs Forum in Newcastle booked Jeff Grout for five events to act variously as speaker, facilitator and interviewer. His first engagement that year was an interview with Yo! Sushi’s Simon Woodroffe.
Jeff conducted three interviews for the London Business Forum. These were with Sir Alan Sugar, Charles Handy, Sven Goran Eriksson and Sir Clive Woodward. He has also been booked by Robert Half International to interview Lord Coe and Dame Stella Rimmington.
For three consecutive years Jeff was booked by the Personal Finance Society for their Annual Conference at the ICC in Birmingham. He delivered a keynote on the ‘Characteristics of Success’ followed by an interview with Greg Dyke.
In addition Jeff has run a series of management development workshops on effective presentation skills and selection interviewing. Also workshops on successful client meetings and building high performance teams.
The paperback edition of Jeff Grout’s book ‘Mind Games‘ was published in 2006 whilst he has also signed a publishing deal with Capstone for a book on the practical realities of leadership entitled ‘What do Leaders Really do?‘.
