Ed Byrne has been doing observational stand up comedy since the late 90’s. His earliest appearance on TV was in 1996 when he appeared in the popular sit com Father Ted.

He was nominated for a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1998. However, it was when he popped up on our screens in a series of adverts for The Carphone Warehouse that Ed Byrne became a household name. Ed Byrne remains one of the most popular choices for radio and TV commercial voice overs.
Most recently in October 2024, Ed appeared on ITV, where he was talking the culinary arts with James Martin on his Saturday Morning programme.
Tour:
2024 saw Ed start a major UK tour, Tragedy Plus Time. It will run right through to April 2025.
Coming on leaps and bounds since the early days, Ed Byrne is now considered to be one of the best stand up comedians in the business. His runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe sell out every year. He has made regular appearances on Dara O Briain’s Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You.
Ed Byrne is a major international comedy star, playing to packed houses all over the world. He has starred in Paris, Rome, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. Also, Canada Belgium and New Zealand to name a few.
DVD:

2009 saw Ed record his live DVD ‘Different Class‘. It was a best seller. What made it slightly different from most of the other comedy DVD’s available, was Ed decided not to record it in London. He recorded it in The Kings Theatre, Glasgow. A brave man indeed.
The next DVD was a documentary called Crowd Pleaser released in 2011. Both DVD’s are available on Amazon by clicking the links above.
