Micky Flanagan has been on the comedy scene for a number of years. He turned professional in the late 1990’s and from then on, became a regular headline act at the Edinburgh Fringe. His first appearance was in 2001 and in 2007 he won a best newcomer award. After that he became a regular voice on both Radio 2 and Radio 4 with comedy performances and his own series.
TV was not far off the cards and in 2009, Micky blast onto our TV screens with Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. Also was Stand Up For The Week and he’s been a regular panellist on Dara O Briain’s Mock The Week. In 2010 he landed a well earned spot on the 2010 Royal Variety Performance.
Micky Flanagan is now firmly one of the UK’s top comedians. His shows have been some of the biggest sell outs in UK comedy. Mickey’s university education along with his cockney background is a constant source for his razor sharp, observational wit.
After a year off in 2015 Micky was back on the scene. In 2017 he embarked on his ‘An’ Another Fing‘ tour to go along with a DVD of the same name which had been recorded at the O2 Arena. This was Micky Flanagan’s third DVD and the tour to go with it was the biggest comedy event of the year. There was well over half a million ticket sales. He sold out the O2 (which has a capacity of 20,000) on eleven consecutive nights.
A fourth DVD was released in 2020: Micky Flanagan: Peeping Behind the CurtainThis was a documentary style production where Micky shows some of his earliest material and how he ended up being one of the UK’s top comedians.
Mickey Flanagan became so popular, Twitter saw a number of fake accounts pretending to be him. Micky then joined Twitter in 2012 @MickyF_Official. To date he has only ever tweeted once. That was to say, he doesn’t use Twitter and advised fans to subscribe to his YouTube Channel.
