Gordon Buchanan, Scottish filmmaker, wildlife cameraman and presenter, hails from Tobermory, on the beautiful Isle of Mull. Now based near Glasgow, Gordon has spent the last thirty years filming the weird, wild and wonderful animals we share the planet with. Travelling to the world’s remotest corners, he continually strives to convey the wonder and beauty of the natural world.

Gordon is passionate about raising awareness of the fragility of the world’s endangered species and habitats. This has led Gordon to take part in some of the most challenging expeditions around the globe. He was in Asia, Africa, the Arctic, Alaska, Papua New Guinea, Russia and South America.
His work has become steadily more high profile and Gordon has been seen in the BBC series, ‘Equator From the Air’, ‘Grizzly Bear Cubs and Me’ and ‘The Bear Family and Me’. He the produced ‘Lost Land Of the Tiger’, ‘Lost Land Of The Volcano’ and ‘Lost Land Of The Jaguar’. Gordon is also a regular contributor to BBC’s popular ‘SpringWatch’ and ‘AutumnWatch’ programmes. Finally, he was the presenter of the series, ‘Maneater Man Hunt’ for National Geographic.
In 2015 Gordon presented The Gorilla Family And Me on BBC Two. He then did something much closer to home, in another BBC series called, Into the Wild . This is where he took celebrities, Alastair Campbell, Dermot O’Leary and Sara Cox amongst others up and close with Britain’s beautiful wildlife.
During a filming in the Amazon jungle for the BBC series Tribes Predators and Me (2017), Gordon found the world’s longest anaconda. It was just over 17 feet long.
When not gallivanting around the world, Gordon Buchanan spends his precious spare time, at home in Glasgow, with his wife Wendy and their two children.
In 2022 Gordon Buchanan, Scottish filmmaker embarked on an Anniversary UK tour called ’30 Years In The Wild’. Gordon for the first time was sharing with his audiences, his life and career with wild animals and endangered species. He shows us just how fragile our planet and environment are.
Gordon is an excellent and enthralling speaker on wild life and our effect on it and the environment.
