David Mitchell

David Mitchell is an award winning comedian, actor, writer and journalist. He is known for his many appearances on TV quiz shows. Also for starring alongside his long term comedy partner Robert Webb. This was in BBC television’s comedy sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Look and Ch4’s sitcom Peep Show.

David can be seen on almost every major comedy panel show. These include Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of Ten Cats and QI. He also turns up every couple of years on The Big Fat Quiz of The Year.  David is one of the team captains on Rob Brydon‘s Would I Lie To You along side fellow captain Lee Mack.

He is a regular contributor on BBC Radio and he also writes for a number of newspapers. These include  The Guardian and The Observer.

David made his acting debut in 2020  when he played the part of Shakespeare in The Upstart Crow a play written by Ben Elton which previewed in London’s West End.  Covid unfortunately stooped the run after only a few weeks but it opens again in 2022 at London’s Apollo Theatre.  Upstart Cow was originally a TV situation Comedy series from 2016.

In 2012 David Mitchell married the writer, presenter and professional poker player Victoria Coren, know for presenting the long running quiz show Only Connect
