Professor Greg Whyte OBE is a former Olympian. He is the man who helped Eddie Izzard run 43 Marathons in 51 days. He also helped David Walliams swim both the Thames and the English Channel and he helped Davina McCall complete a 500 mile triathlon.
Greg is known as a physical activity guru. He is also a world-renowned sports scientist and a Professor in Applied Sport & Exercise Science.
He is a UK authority on Exercise Physiology, Sports Performance & Rehabilitation which includes having extensive professional experience assessing, treating and improving the performance of athletes and sporting enthusiasts ranging from celebrities attempting their first mountain summit to Gold medal seeking Olympians.
A former modern pentathlete, Greg competed in two Olympic Games and has won European bronze and World Championship silver medals. After his athletic career he studied for his BSc at Brunel University, completed his MSc in human performance at Frostburg State University in the USA and completed his PhD at St. Georges Hospital Medical School and the University of Wolverhampton, where he was research co-ordinator.
Greg Whyte is so well known for his involvement in Comic Relief. Apart from David, Eddie and Davina above, he has also trained, motivated and successfully coached a number of other well known celebrities including, John Bishop’s Week of Hell; James Cracknell to run, cycle and swim to Africa; Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles and Gary Barlow to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and most recently, helped Mel C, Dara O’Briain and others to raft 110k down the Zambezi river.
So far Professor Greg Whyte has helped raise over £17 million for Comic Relief and Sport Relief projects.
