Hayley Matthews is a TV, radio host and presenter. She is currently presenting for Radio Station FORTH1 and has a weekly column in the Edinburgh Evening News.
Hayley was first see on STV Edinburgh’s The Fountainbridge show, which was a live magazine show going out 5 nights a week with co-host and former Heart breakfast presenter, Ewen Cameron. The show had a monthly reach of over 1 million viewers across the central belt of Scotland. Up to 2017 she remained with STV Edinburgh and STV Glasgow, seeing the change over that brought the two channels together to become STV2. Hayley was a regular presenter known for such programmes as “Live At Five” and “See What You Missed”.
Hayley’s role is now freelance but it still sees her out and about filming anything from being on a catamaran to learning the bagpipes, to interviewing councillors to cooking tea for a tenner. Anything that involves what’s going on in Scotland and covering topics that are hot on everyones lips, are all in a days work for her.
Originally from Edinburgh, Hayley Matthew’s passion for presenting started at a young age, the Portobello lass studied radio broadcasting at Telford College in 1999 and pursued a career on the wireless shortly after. Presenting shows on Kingdom FM, Real Radio and Talk 107, Hayley joined STV’s The Nightshift team as a presenter before moving over to launch The Fountainbridge Show in Jan 2015 on STV Edinburgh.
A regular on Radio and TV, Hayley has a huge fan base in central Scotland and is a favourite with the locals. Her passion for motherhood keeps her busy and grounded and is she’s never short of a baby wipe or two and says being a mother has been the most rewarding job so far.
Hayley’s other passions are animals and music and has featured regularly on BBC Scotland chatting to Fred MacAuley and Kaye Adams on morning radio talking everything from teacakes to toddlers and first aid to families. Hayley is never short of a word or two. Hayley’s career has so far seen her interview celebs such as Amy Winehouse, Andy Williams, Katie Price, Jason Donovan and many more. She’s not shy of the crowds either and has taken stage at various outdoor broadcasts including Big in Falkirk.
She’s also squeezed in some modelling for Michelle Mone in 2010 when she was chosen to be a “Real Women” to represent the real body shapes in today’s female world. Hayley’s also modelled on STV’s The Hour and for Scotland’s No1 magazine featuring 12+ clothes and encourages woman to be proud of their bodies and embrace a positive attitude towards the female form.
