Jamie Bartlett wrote The Dark Net. He is a fascinating speaker on all things internet and the technology blogger for the Telegraph. Jamie writes frequently for several newspapers and magazines on how the internet is changing politics and society.
He is also Head of the Violence and Extremism Programme and the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media at the think-tank Demos, where he has researched and written extensively about radical political parties and movements across Europe.

Jamie is the author of “The Dark Net”, an examination of the hidden corners of the internet and the strange subcultures and protagonists that inhabit it, from bitcoin miners to neo-Nazis. Another book ‘Radicals’ was published in 2017. It was described as a ground breaking and shocking new work of non-fiction from one of the brightest young thinkers of today. In 2018 Jamie Bartlett wrote The People Vs Tech: How the internet is killing democracy (and how we save it). The book was longlisted for the 2019 Orwell Prize for Political Writing and won the 2019 Transmission Prize.
Jamie’s most recent book is The Missing Cryptoqueen which came out in 2022. The Times said “One of the biggest scams in history”. Fortune said “The largest financial scam ever”. It’s about the cryptocurrency OneCoin and the rise and disappearance of its creator Dr Ruja Ignatova.
Jamie’s main speech topics are the dark web, social media research and analysis, internet cultures security, privacy online and radial political parties.
