Gina McKie is a host and no stranger to hosting awards, facilitating and speaking at events. She is also one of a very few female auctioneers. However, if you can’t quite place her face, you will almost certainly know her voice, as Gina is a regular broadcaster on local and UK radio and she has been working in that media for over 20 years.
Currently with Go Radio, Glasgow and the West of Scotland’s number one radio show. Gina hosts the afternoon show between 2pm and5pm. She was also recently offered two weekend shows on Virgin Radio 80s plus and the weekend breakfast shows between 6am and 10am. Gina McKie also produces and presents Gina’s Sunday night (7pm-10pm) show for Greatest Hits Radio which is broadcast throughout the UK.
In the past Gina has featured (and still does) on many of Scotland’s radio stations. These include Clyde, Forth, Tay, West Sound and the UK’s Rock FM. In 2015 she hosted the Glasgow charity Kiltwalk. She had hosted Kiltwalks in the past but the Glasgow one which started from the SSE Hydro was huge. More than 6000 people turned up. Gina regularly hosts a number of charitable lunches and dinners including, Cash For Kids, Beatson Cancer Charity and Scottish Autism to name a few.
Gina McKie started her career after a spell at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama when she then moved to Dundee to study broadcasting. She has always had a strong interest in acting and drama and became a member of the Scottish Youth Theatre, The Mitchell Theatre and The Kilmardinny Arts and Theatre group. Gina then completed a course in radio drama with the BBC which led to her first broadcast with Tay FM. She started as a production assistant, was soon elevated to head of music and finally to programme controller. Gina has since presented shows from all over the world worldwide including from Cyprus to Canada, even in Hollywood where she worked alongside Ross King. Gina won the prestigious New York Radio Festival Award.
As a presenter, host and superb auctioneer, Gina is now one of the most in demand personalities for award ceremonies, charity events, motivational days and graduation events.
However, there is another side to Gina McKie. She studied with the British School Of Yoga and has diplomas in advanced counselling skills. She is a qualified counsellor, hypnotherapist, reiki master and Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner. Gina has also studied Psychology. In fact, Gina is a passionate believer in Self Help, so much so, she has recently written a book about it called ImaGINAtion. It’s a collection of inspirational material. Everything from ‘facing your fear’ to ‘confidence building’.
Gina started presenting confidence classes and is now available to deliver a powerful yet fun packed motivational/inspirational speech.
