Alison Edgar MBE

Alison Edgar is a captivating speaker and author on leadership, communications, and enhancing performance.

In 2024, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for Education from Bournemouth University making her: Dr Alison Edgar MBE.

She is also an entrepreneur, widely known as The Entrepreneur’s Godmother.

The Covid years of 2020 and 2021 were not bad years for Alison Edgar. Despite the damage to the corporate events industry by the virus, she was awarded an MBE for Business and Entrepreneurship in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Yet this was not the first time Alison had met the Queen. 2016 saw recognition of Alison’s outstanding contribution to enterprise in the UK and she was invited to attend the Queen’s Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.

Alison was a boardroom advisor for a business TV show which launched on Amazon Prime UK & US.

Leaving the corporate world after many years, Alison Edgar set up her own business at the age of 46 to work with entrepreneurs, start-ups and teams. This makes her a relatable figure for audiences around the globe. She herself sat in conference audiences for most of her career. She understands what audiences engage with, and her unique content and witty delivery style deliver both education and also entertainment.

Since she began her entrepreneurial journey, Alison is a speaker known as ‘The Entrepreneur’s Godmother’. Alison coaches and mentors a plethora of successful entrepreneurs, including Dragon’s Den and Apprentice Winners. She has also sat on boards at Downing Street to give her opinions on the business landscape.

She is a twice best-selling international author and also a sought-after media contributor. Alison Edgar has been featured in The Independent’s 2019 Top Business Books written by a woman. Her books are stocked by major retailers such as WHSmith, Waterstones, and Blackwells. Allison’s debut book ‘Secrets of Successful Sales‘, is an international best-seller.

Based on her TEDx talk in Wales, Alison’s second book ‘SMASH IT! The Art of Getting What YOU Want‘ combines her work with top entrepreneurs and psychology to teach everyday people and teams to think with an entrepreneurial mindset, to meet their goals and improve their lives. She has delivered this content for teams such as SkyBet, The Discovery Channel, and EasyJet.
