Annabelle Bond – Completed the MacLehose Trail in 16 Hours and 50 Minutes
Annabelle Bond is an internationally acclaimed explorer, mountaineer, and motivational speaker whose record-breaking achievements have inspired audiences worldwide. In 2004, she became the fourth British woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest and went on to conquer the Seven Summits challenge, scaling the highest peak on every continent, in just 360 days. This feat has been achieved by only a handful of people globally. An accomplished athlete, she first tested her endurance in Hong Kong’s gruelling MacLehose trail before tackling the world’s toughest mountains. Today, Annabelle shares her extraordinary journey to empower organisations and individuals with lessons of resilience, determination, and leadership.
Credentials and Impact
Annabelle began her career in Hong Kong, where she spent a decade in real estate. Through hard work and determination, she advanced to the position of director, developing strong leadership skills in one of the world’s most challenging property markets. During this time, she also pursued her athletic passion, competing in the MacLehose Trail ultramarathon for four consecutive years and achieving recognition as the second fastest woman in one race.
In 2001, she turned to mountaineering, climbing Aconcagua in South America as her first major expedition. This was followed by summits across Chile, Ecuador, and Bolivia, and in 2004, she became the fourth British woman to reach the top of Mount Everest. Within just 360 days, she completed the Seven Summits challenge, joining an elite group of fewer than 120 climbers worldwide.
Her mountaineering success provided a platform for philanthropy. Climbing in support of The Eve Appeal, she raised over 1.6 million US dollars for ovarian cancer research. For her charitable work and athletic achievements, Annabelle has received international recognition, including the Global Hero Award from the Hong Kong Cancer Fund and honours from women’s leadership organisations. Today, she continues to serve on boards, advise global enterprises, and inspire audiences through her powerful keynote addresses.
