Deborah Leslie is a superb after dinner speaker. She is also a published short story writer, children’s novelist and prize-winning Doric writer. Deborah is the author of two children’s novels and has published three collections of short stories written in the North East’s Doric dialect.
Based in Aberdeenshire, Deborah Leslie now travels all over the country to speak at corporate and club events. She is also an extremely popular speaker at Burns events, where her “Reply Frae The Lassies” has become legendary.
“…Debbie replied to the Toast to the Lassies where she gave it to the men with both barrels, reduced the hall to helpless laughter and made herself an instant heroine to the womenfolk of the community…”
Mark Stephen, Brodcaster and Fyties Hall Chairman
Deborah regularly speaks at golf and football club dinners, charity shows, Burns’ suppers, Wags’ nights, etc. Whatever the occasion or company, Deborah Leslie can comfortably ‘fit the bill’.
Apparently, every school report Debbie ever had said: ‘Deborah would get on better if she stopped daydreaming, making things up and spoke less’. How ironic that a lang tongue and a vivid imagination are now the tools of her trade…

All done with the couthy ability of the consummate professional, and in the Doric patois of which she is a passionate champion…”
