Des McLean is a multi award winning stand up comedian, presenter and actor. Billy Connolly called him “his favourite Comedian”. 
Based in Glasgow, Des is in demand both throughout the UK and across the world. He has also toured America, New Zealand, Canada and Australia and played the iconic Riviera in Las Vegas.
For TV Des regularly presents on programmes for both BBC & STV. On radio Des co-hosted the Clyde 1 Breakfast Show for 6 years, winning three prestigious Sony Radio Awards.
On stage Des McLean has appeared in a number of productions. These include playing the lead role in Iain Pattison’s critically acclaimed play ‘I-Tommy’. This was about the life of politician Tommy Sheridan.
In 2014 Des created ‘Des McLean’s A to Z of Scotland’ which he performed to audiences in a major nationwide tour. The accompanying DVD to the tour is the latest addition to the series of his best selling catalogue of DVD’s & CD’s.
In 2017 Des embarked on another nationwide tour with a brand new stand up show. He also created the online sitcom “The Glasgow Trip” with fellow comedian Gary Little. In 2019 the sitcom was nominated for best online comedy at The Scottish Comedy awards.
Des is regularly booked to host events, or perform comedy sets at corporate events, charity balls, awards ceremonies and other events.
He sees every event being different so works hard to ensure his presentation is within the parameters of the occasion. Des McLean works with organisers to successfully target the audience.
