Credentials and Impact
Dr Eliza Filby began her academic journey studying History at Durham University. She then continued her studies with a Master’s degree in Modern History at University College London, further developing her knowledge of modern political and social history. In 2007, she completed a PhD in Contemporary British History at the University of Warwick.
Following her doctoral research, Eliza moved into teaching and sharing her academic expertise with students. In 2011, she taught the history of social democracy to British millennials at King’s College London. Two years later, in 2013, she expanded her teaching internationally by teaching the history of capitalism to Chinese millennials at Renmin University of China in Beijing.
In 2014, Eliza founded GradTrain, a graduate training company in the UK designed to support young professionals as they enter the workplace. Through her academic background, teaching experience, and entrepreneurial work, she has developed a career focused on education, generational understanding, and professional development.
