Gary Lamont

Gary Lamont comedian is best known for playing “Robbie Fraser” a fan favourite series regular on BBC Scotland’s River City since 2009. He chose to leave the long running show in 2017 to embark on a new chapter of his career.  Acting is still very much in Gary’s blood as he took on a part in the TV historical dram series Outlander but he still finds time to be in the odd pantomime during December.

In 2016, he debuted his sellout one man comedy cabaret show “What a Riddy!” at the Edinburgh Festival, celebrating Music of Ginger Origin (Singing songs by Ginger Artists)

He was back at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017 for the launch of the Gilded Balloon’s brand new Rose Theatre with “Gary Lamont: Dropping the Soap!”. This was another self produced and sellout hit.  In it he roped in all of his celebrity pals. These included Graham Norton, Martine McCutcheon and Michelle McManus. Even Claire from Steps stepped in to help Gary figure out his new career path. This was since he departed River City after 8 brilliant years of service.

The show was picked up by McGill Productions and Gary embarked on a one man tour of Scotland in 2018.

Gary has built up an impressive portfolio hosting and singing at various corporate gigs. Now living in London, he works all over the UK. He is very excited to expand further in this field.

Fundraising events from black tie to ladies lunches; Gary has hosted and performed for Variety Scotland, Bafta Scotland, CHAS and When you Wish Upon a Star. Others include Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards, Craig Alexander Wilson Foundation, The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice and Miss Scotland. To continue, Gary has worked with Fake Bake United, The Sun, The Evening Times, PEEK Project and Macmillan Cancer Support
