Heather Dewar – PR Consultant, Broadcaster, Conference and Awards Host
Heather Dewar is an award-winning journalist, with vast experience in both broadcast and print media. Her story is one of grit, determination, and resilience, having cheated death when she was 21-years-old. In 2025, she also beat cancer.
She is a consummate professional, with over 20 years experience in radio and TV presenting, working for the BBC, SKY, and a host of commercial businesses. Heather can now be regularly found as a contributor on network television, and can also be heard on BBC Radio 5 Live and stations across the UK.
Heather has worked in almost every corner of the media landscape, broadcasting across music, talk and sport formats, as well as presenting videos for corporate clients and featuring in several radio ads as a voiceover artist.
She has hosted a number of events both in London and in Scotland, and is also an after-dinner speaker.
While sport has always been Heather’s passion, she also has real, lived experience in the world of business. She managed several restaurants in London prior to working in TV and radio. Heather also created her own app, and produced work for UEFA.
Heather Dewar Awards and Recognition
Her own story is one of incredible perseverance, moving to newspapers in 2020 when covid impacted sports broadcasting. Less than two years later, she won the biggest award in Scottish journalism. This was the Journalist of the Year at the Scottish Press Awards. Since then, she has twice won Scottish Sports News Writer of the Year, and come runner up in the Interviewer of the Year. Also, she was Feature writer of the year, and Columnist of the Year categories.
Ground-breaking Achievements in Sports Media
In 2025, she was runner up in the British Sport Journalism Awards (SJA) News Reporter of the Year category. Heather was the only Scottish writer to be nominated, and was also shortlisted for Regional Sports Writer of the Year. In 2024, she was nominated in the News Reporter category for the first time.
Heather Dewar has reported LIVE from a multitude of big events. These include the Olympics in Japan, the Asian Games in China and the Women’s World Cup football in France. She has also reported on the Netball World Cup, the Commonwealth Games and Wimbledon. In golf Heather reported on the Solheim Cup, the Dunhill Links golf championship along with numerous international fixtures in football.
Heather speaks with both warmth and authority on a number of subjects, and is never afraid to ask challenging and difficult questions.
In her spare time, she likes to whizz around the water on a mono-ski.
