Ingrid Johnson is a native Geordie with a rich background in Voiceover and broadcasting for both radio and TV and Event Hosting.
Ingrid’s career began in commercial radio as a teenager. It was here she became the first female breakfast co-presenter at 18 on Metro FM. She was the first woman to present almost every day part on the award-winning station. This was where she discovered her passion for voiceover and broadcasting, particularly in audio.
After a decade at Metro Radio with a multi-award-winning show, Ingrid Johnson moved to Capital FM in London. She was now presenting evenings and weekend early breakfast shows. Later she transitioned to TV, presenting live national and international sports coverage for Sky Sports TV. During her ten years with the broadcaster, she honed her live TV skills. This led to handling many 5-6 hour international broadcasts as presenter and also as an interviewer. She was in production roles, showcasing her ability to think quickly on her feet and engage the audience no matter the sport.
Ingrid later returned to her roots in the North East at BBC Newcastle. She spent another decade as a full-time freelance broadcaster, producer, and audio editor. She worked on all day parts, live outside broadcasts, live event hosing for The Great North run, Nissan, Barbour and more.
Operating daily from her own professional studio, Ingrid and her award-winning teen daughter Verity Uma are renowned award winning Voiceover artists. Between them they offer vocal services for commercials, corporate projects, gaming, animation, and e-learning globally.
The studio is equipped with a professional soundproof booth. It has Neumann TLM 103 and also Sennheiser 416 microphones. Also it has SSL +2 interface, and various connectivity options like Cleanfeed, Source Connect, ipDTL. Also Zoom, and Skype.
