Laura Goodwin is a BBC News anchor, host and presenter. She has been a broadcast journalist for over 15 years. Her career started at Moray Firth radio before moving to STV North in Aberdeen as a presenter and reporter. She covered the opening of the Queen’s Ferry crossing, the new V&A museum and the Scottish independence referendum.

Laura is joining BBC Scotland’s Reporting Scotland as a lead news presenter alongside Laura Miller. This follows the departure of the programmes long standing presenter Sally Magnusson who has decided to go freelance.
2018 saw Laura join the BBC as their Innovation Correspondent, a new role created by BBC Scotland. Since then Laura has covered a range of stories celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of Scotland’s business and academic community. Most recently she covered the approval of a spaceport in Shetland.
Laura Goodwin has a particular interest in scientific stories about medical progress like the identification of a gene linked to cancer in people with Orkney heritage.
Laura regularly presents BBC Scotland’s live news, including The Nine and Reporting Scotland.
Outside of work, Laura Goodwin is married and has two children and two step children..
