Before rising to prominence as a travel documentarian, Levison served as an Officer in the British Army, where he was deployed to Afghanistan and awarded the Operational Service Medal with Afghanistan clasp. He later became part of the 77X Brigade as a reservist, taking part in the first British Army exercise in Japan. His military background instilled the resilience and leadership that would define his career as an explorer. In 2014, he embarked on a nine-month expedition walking the length of the Nile, which marked the beginning of his reputation as one of Britain’s foremost modern explorers, as the journey became an acclaimed Channel 4 series.
