Zoe Lyons

Zoe Lyons is a comedian who hosted the prime time BBC2 Quiz show ‘Lightning‘.  She has appeared on Have I Got News For You, House of Games and Live at the Apollo. She also had a shot at Celebrity Mastermind where she won the trophy in 2015. Her specialist subject was Quentin Crisp the writer and actor.  She returned to the famous black leather chair in 2020 for a champion of champions special which included Miles Jupp, Lucy Porter and Neil Hannon.

Zoe’s areas of expertise include Marine life and diving, Ultra-Marathon running, LGBTQIA+ and Alopecia Awareness.

EARLY DAYS

Before Zoe had started in comedy, she had previously been seen on TV. She was a contestant in ITV’s 2001 television show Survivor.  It was in 2004 when she won the Funny Women awards. She then toured all over the UK doing the comedy club circuit. In 2007 her solo stand up was nominated for a best newcomer award at the Edinburgh Fringe.  Back at the Fringe the following year, a joke from her show won the TV channel Dave’s joke of the Fringe. After that Zoe started touring internationally including a show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia.

TV & RADIO

Some of Zoe’s latest TV work has seen her on SAS: Who Dares Wins, The One Show and Celebrity Weakest Link. She has been heard on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz which is a panel game talking about the week’s news stories.

Also, she has been on one of BBC radio’s oldest and most popular game shows, Just a Minute which was originally broadcast in 1967 with Nicholas Parsons hosting. To date the show is now almost at it’s thousandth episode.

CORPORATE

Zoe Lyons is available for corporate and private events. She can perform comedy cabaret and is an accomplished awards host. Zoe is also an experienced virtual host & performer.

More recent TV appearances included Qi , The One Show, Women’s Health which is a Channel 5 Documentary and there’s much more in the pipeline.
