Bernadette graduated with a Master of Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast before joining the McLaren Racing graduate programme. Beginning as a Graduate Engineer, she developed expertise in vehicle dynamics, systems engineering, and design. Quickly promoted to Design Engineer, she worked on major projects including the Dyno Modular Carbon Gearbox and final drive wheel components.

After two years in design, Bernadette advanced into performance engineering, focusing on brake balance, throttle mapping, and fuelling. She then moved to Force India as a Performance & Strategy Engineer, contributing to car optimisation and race-day decisions. Promoted to Senior Strategy Engineer at Racing Point, she took on greater responsibility in live race strategy, supporting the team in high-pressure championship battles.

In 2020, Bernadette was appointed Head of Race Strategy at Aston Martin, overseeing all aspects of race planning and travelling globally with the team to maximise results.

Today, she directs BC Engineering Consultancy Ltd. Named among The Manufacturer Top 100 UK Role Models, Bernadette has also served as an Ambassador for the Make It In Great Britain campaign, further extending her impact beyond motorsport.
