Kriss Akabusi is famous for his achievements in athletics where his greatest individual triumph was his Gold Medal in the 1990 European Championships. This was when he also beat David Hemery’s 22 year old British Record.
Career:
He began his international athletic career in 1983 as a member of the 4×400 metre relay squad. Kriss will probably always be remembered for helping Britain clinch the Gold. He also helped beat the Americans in the World Championships 4×400 metre relay. This was in Tokyo in 1991.
In 1992 as 3 x Olympic medallist, World, European and Commonwealth Champion Kriss was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen in her Birthday Honours List. This was in recognition of his services to the country through athletics.

His start into television and entertainment began when he presented THE BIG BREAKFAST. This was followed with a full time position as co-presenter with BBC’S RECORD BREAKERS. He has also presented various children’s programmes and appears regularly on game and chat shows.
Kriss is currently the CEO of The Akabusi Company, a corporate communications and training company where his marvellous personality and reputation as a fantastic motivational and inspirational speaker has made him a very popular and attractive advocate.
He is also an accredited personal coach, having qualified at the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara. He is one of only four qualified Hudson Institute coaches in the UK.
Kriss Akabusi born in London in 1958. He is of Nigerian parents and has two children, Ashanti and Shakira. Currently living in Buckinghamshire where he can be found Teeing off at the local Golf Clubs. He also participates in various sports including basketball, tennis and also football. As a Christian he regularly attends his local church. In addition, Kriss can often be spotted geeing his favourite football team on West Ham United.
